5 Ways To Celebrate Valentine’s Day With Kids

Valentine’s Day is not just for your partner!!  Kids love celebrating it too. While many international schools in Mumbai support English traditions and celebrate St. Valentine's Day in their own way by preparing small theatre plays and activities for their kids. Other kids, who don’t get the privilege to celebrate this day in school, feel disheartened and sad when they are back home. However, as parents you can make an effort to show your kids some love too on Valentine’s Day with these 5 ways listed below:

1. Create Valentine’s Day Decorations TogetherKids feel loved when we spend time making something with them. Why not make Valentine’s Day special by creating decorations together? Just pick up some attractive ribbons, balloons, scissors, magic markers, water colours, brushes etc and create anything that’s apt for the celebration. Take suggestions from your kids and involve them in arranging the decorations around the walls.  Kids will surely love this task and it will surely create an excitement in them.

2. Gift Your Child Something Precious
Help kids get in the mood for love with cute Valentine's Day gifts. From candy jars, teddy bears’  to cute looking clothes, bags and toys you have ample of options to gift your kid. But whatever you choose, a gift offered will love and affection will definitely bring a smile on your child’s face.

3. Prepare A Valentine Special Dish
Valentine's Day makes a great excuse to indulge in some delicious treats. Even little children can help read recipes and assist you in measuring ingredients. However, if you want to go as per Valentine’s Day theme - make some heart-shaped sugar cookies and decorate them with pink frosting and sprinkles. If you prefer desserts, try making chocolate-covered strawberries ice-cream or easy homemade truffles.

4. Arrange Some Fun ActivitiesMany games that are childhood favourites can be modified to include a Valentine's Day theme. For Example,  You can create your own Valentine's Day treasure hunt by writing clues on paper hearts that lead to a special gift or treat.

But if you have ample of time, you can arrange activities like Valentine’s Day colouring pages, Valentine word search puzzles etc.

If your kid is studying in one of the top international schools in Mumbai, he will love this idea of having fun activities at home, because international schools in Mumbai foster learning and development in children through such creative activities. However, that does not mean the other kids from different schools will not enjoy this idea of celebration.

5. Arrange A Kids’ Valentine Party for a Cause
What better way to teach kids about love than to host a kids’ Valentine party for a cause and show the next generation all the ways they can show love for fellow humankind?

You can pick any social cause, like preparing toys and cards for underprivileged children, or baking cakes and chocolates for the poor and the hungry etc. Whatever be your theme or motto, this party will surely make a huge difference for others who don’t get a chance to enjoy the smallest happiness in life.
