Ways to Raise Kind Children

Studies reveal that kindness is a path to happiness and improved health. Therefore it’s important that you raise kids to be kind in life.

Here are a few ways to raise kind children

  • Teach Your Kids Compassion

Fostering compassion in children is the best way to prevent verbal, physical, and emotional aggression from taking root. For example, you can use meal time as an opportunity for emotional compassion. Try to resist fighting about food so you and your child can focus on simply being together.
A growing number of IGCSE Schools in Mira Road and other parts of Mumbai have initiated programs that teach compassion skills to children.  By exploring a topic on an emotional level or by organizing an activity - they let children develop the skill of compassion and empathy towards others.

  • Be A Role Model

When children have nurturing parents and guardians who deliberately model helping others, they, in turn, are likely to feel an impulse to help out, too. By seeing someone else perform an act of kindness they tend to be more sympathetic and helpful to other children when they hurt themselves.

  • Encourage Children To Join A Cause

It’s essentials for kids to understand about their society and be concerned and empathetic for those citizens who live in other communities and culture.  When children start participating in social causes like charity and assistance they get prepared to connect with people of all backgrounds.

  • Remove Negative Thoughts

Parents and guardians who articulate positive feelings raise children who are kinder and more compassionate toward others. Ensure you eliminate behaviors like yelling, spanking, and threatening etc; while at home.
In fact, expressing positive thoughts is also considered good for your health. In increases oxytocin—a hormone that fosters bonding and connection, and lowers blood pressure. In addition, positive thoughts also enhance mood and motivation for good body, mind, and soul.

  • Talk to them and Spend Time With Them

Your child must be studying in one of the best schools in Bhayander, however, as a parent, it’s important that you talk to them about their time spent in school. Talk about ethical dilemmas your he/she might face in the classroom, at lunch, or during recess. Come up with suggestions and role-play possible solutions. Encourage your children to see conflicts from another person’s perspective. Discuss ways they can compromise between their needs and those of others.
Children do not learn kindness by only thinking about it and talking about it. They need motivation and learning from you and the school as well.
Kindness is a defining aspect of civilized human life. Therefore it must be taught to children at a younger age so that they contribute to a better world tomorrow.

4 Benefits of Inter-School Sports Competitions

It is undeniable that academic studies are very important for all students. However, it’s also important to realize that sports play an important role in a child’s growth and development.  Inter-house sports competition is a major element of education and learning, and that every school should motivate their students from joining inter-school sports competitions for a number of reasons.
  • Opportunity to Showcase Skills
Interschool sports competitions provide a great platform to display the knowledge and skills students have gained over the years. It’s a great source of self-evaluation for students. Through critical analysis and feedback on performance, students are able to nurture their experience and skills further.

Students do benefit when they graduate from popular A level school in Mumbai or from any other International school in the city. However, it’s important to understand that achievements through interschool sports competitions can leave great imprints on a child’s career. The appreciation certificates that students receive for participating in inter-school competitions will work as a proof of their outstanding skills. It will not only make the child stand out from the crowd but it will also act an advantage when applying for higher studies or while competing in the job market.
  • Significant Experience
Competitions offer exposure and realistic outlook towards the competitive nature of real life. While participating in inter-school competitions students go through a series of brainstorming sessions and rapid problem-solving sequences which they usually don’t practice in the classroom sessions. In all, this activity offers students a totally diverse form of learning experience which will help them gain more knowledge.
  • Social Exposure

Things Parents Need to Inform the Teachers

While a teacher is considered an expert in education, no one understands a kid better than parents. Hence it’s essential for parents to inform teachers about issues that a child may be facing at home - that may otherwise affect his/her’s school performance. This will help teachers understand and help the kid to perform in a better way.
Whether your child is studying in one of the top schools in Mira Bhayandar or in one of the best international schools in Mumbai – ensure you share the below important things with your child’s teacher.

Health Issues
If your child is suffering from any kind of serious health condition, let his/her teacher know about it. It’s also helpful to inform the teacher and the school whether your kid has been diagnosed with conditions like frequent urination, allergy, asthma, weak memory, etc. This will help the teacher to better understand your child’s ability to learn things and will lay the groundwork for a supportive relationship throughout the academic year.

Learning Pattern
Your son may be a top performer in history or science but may be weak in other languages. Or maybe your daughter is fond of art and craft but struggles with maths and other subjects. If you inform the teacher about his/her’s learning behaviour up front, they will find different ways to help your children improve in the areas they need it most. This will improve your child’s overall performance.

Personality traits
Personality traits of a child are better known when they are at home.  Maybe your kid is extremely introvert and shy and feels nervous about meeting new students and new teachers in the school. Or perhaps your toddler is very mischievous at home and you’re concerned he will be doing the same at school etc. Be it any kind of social or behavioural issue, it’s best to inform teachers before it creates a problem for the child at school.

Family issues
In case if your family is going through a major problem like a divorce, a serious illness, death, financial loss or a move - inform the teacher about the same. Any kind of family issue could affect your child’s mental and physical health. Even if your kid seems to have adjusted to the bad family situation, ask the teacher to be a little attentive so they can watch for any unusual behavioural changes in your child, while at school.

The key to your child’s success in school is for you and the teacher to have open communication.  Therefore many International Schools in Dahisar and Mira Road are taking the initiative to make it easier for teachers to foster a positive relationship with the child.

The testimony and statements received by parents on the open day allow teachers to focus towards developing and moulding the young mind. In fact, the faculty members operating in these top schools in Mira Bhayandar are now moving in sync with the vision and mission statement of developing confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged learners.

Importance of Art Galleries in School

Art galleries have been in decline across the world. We're not sure the reason why. However, these days many top schools in Mira Bhayandar and other parts of Mumbai are taking the effort to introduce art galleries for students.

Here are a few reasons why the schools feel the need of art galleries:

Boost Creativity
Nothing boosts personal creativity more than art galleries.  It unleashes the creative juices and makes a person more intellectual.  Moreover, it encourages thinking, research, opinion forming and clear communication. So when students visit art galleries, it inspires them to become more artistic and inventive in life.

Offers Meditation
Art is a form of meditation. It clears a person’s mind and often restores this great sense of calm and wholeness. The environment in the art gallery is so soothing that it gives away creative ideas and solutions for various issues in life. For the most part, it's really a time to be in communion with creativity. It's like getting a quiet education for children of all ages. It’s simply meditative and fun.

Makes a Person Emotionally Intelligent
With the help of art, children become smarter, sharper, warmer, freer, more tolerant and considerate and more at peace not to mention more creative. With the fact that society has become so snarky, cynical, angry, scattered and far too often, wretched - art galleries help kids overcome this stress and help them to reconnect with themselves with greater values.

Community Oneness
If nothing else, art teaches kids that we are part of something much larger than ourselves.  It creates opportunities for community dialogue, shared cultural experiences, and civic work. With this, it provides an opportunity for kids to become socially conscious and engaged.  It not only helps them build relationships with others but also helps them appreciate and accept different culture.

Art galleries come and go and a lot of people think that while the internet is liberating artists, it's also putting some galleries out of the world.  This doesn't have to be the case.  Let's hope that with the help of top schools in Mira Bhayandar and various other international schools in Mumbai –the art galleries become a part of our future generation.  Younger kids need them, artists need them and so do we.

If your child has a natural talent for art, try to enroll him in such international/ CBSE schools in Mumbai that promote art and creativity.  The important point is that you nurture your child's talent without forcing him, right at a tender age.

4. Naval Academy, Colaba

A visit to the Naval Academy is now available for preschools in Mumbai as a field trip destination. It conducts "Be A Cadet For A Day - Hands On Experience" for school students to give the experience of marine life. Fire fighting, first aid, museum visit, mangrove study, rescue and lifesaving techniques, navigation, adventure activities, fun with knots are the various activities covered for school students.

Many Mumbai international schools take learning beyond desks and chairs and enable the students to venture out for various field visits and educational tours. The places for the visits are planned at the beginning of every academic semester and the visits are scheduled to be interspersed between the academic days.

Ways To Help Students Who Struggle With Anxiety

Everyone experiences a bit of fear of being judged, but for students with social anxiety, the fear is much worse.
In children, anxiety can be more than just “worries.” Anxiety can affect classroom performance and overall development in a child, because, an anxious brain can’t absorb new information or adapt to new things as effectively as a non-anxious brain.

But, the good news is that social anxiety in children is treatable with the help of a good network of parents, counselors, and teachers.

However, here we bring to you a few ways to help calm anxious kids:

Be Understanding

If you start over-controlling and being harsh towards your child, chances are high that your child will suffer from high levels of anxiety. Instead be understanding and encourage your child to face different situations and help him participate in various decision-making tasks.
Remind yourself that everyone faces difficulties in life and that by helping to cope with the situation, he or she will be gaining life-long skills, that will allow him to face the challenges in future.

Tell Your Child That It Is Okay To Be Imperfect
It is important to encourage your child to work hard but equally important to accept and embrace your child's mistakes and imperfections.
Your kid must be studying in one of the best International Schools in Mumbai, or in one of the best

IGCSE schools in Bhayander, but you need to keep in mind that he/she is not a superman or a wonder woman to excel in everything...... and that is ok.
Striving for perfection will reinforce low self-esteem and increase anxiety in young children. Moreover, throughout the life, there will always be a flaw that needs work, a pound to be lost or a skill to be improved.  And while trying to make everything perfect, you cannot goof up with your child’s mental development or have a down day with them.

Stop Competing Your Child With Others
This is the worst thing that you can do with your kids. Competition is fine, but it has to be a healthy competition that enforces motivation and not discouragement.
However, in reality, you should encourage your child to be competitive with his own self. Just encouraging him to keep up with his own achievement, will not only make him stronger but will help him tackle the anxiety without much effort.

Spend Quality Time
Every child needs quality time with their parents to feel secured and loved. Many a time’s children are lost in negative thoughts and in criticism. And by spending quality time with the kids, you will be able to share their thoughts and give them some positive suggestions and ideas. The more you spend time with them, the more will you be able to reinforce positive attributes in your child.  In short, this activity will help kids overcome their anxiety and help them live a better positive life in future.

Today even the education system is focusing on how to handle anxiety and fear in students. Some nursery schools in Mira Road are taking novel approaches to help anxious students. By providing a comfortable and holistic learning environment, the school promises to hold your child’s hand throughout the life and direct them to their goal and win the victor's cup.

In fact, many schools in Bhayander and other parts of Mumbai have been successful in combating anxiety, with meetings arranged involving the teacher, psychologist and parents or caregiver.
So, if you really wish to bring put the best in your child, ensure you pick a school that specializes in working with kids and helps them overcome fear and anxiety.

Tips to Stop Bad Habits In Your Child

Kids are immature, innocent and generally unaware of their actions. They are easily susceptible to developing unhealthy habits. However, if these practices go unchecked at early stages, they become rigid and hard to give up in life later.
So while the bad habits seem to be annoying, you as a parent need to ensure that you deal with it in a positive way. So that it doesn’t leave a negative impact on the child.
In this article, you will find some really helpful tips that would help you stop bad habits in your child.

Enroll Your Child in a Reputed School
There's a lot your child is learning in school besides seemingly complicated science, maths and advanced vocabulary. As your little one works on learning new subjects each year, they're also forming new habits in school - some of which can be less than desirable. Hence it becomes important for you to enroll your child in one of the best schools in Mumbai. Whether it’s a top international school in Mumbai or one of the best CBSE schools in the state, ensure you pick a school that focuses on all round development of your child.
Well reputed schools play an important role in empowering your child to blossom as a personality. And when this aspect is taken care of, your half the trouble is eliminated automatically.

Be a Role Model At Home
You may be a satisfied parent with the thought that your child is studying in one of the top schools in Mumbai - that’s addressing the behavioral and educational needs of your child as a twenty-first-century global citizen. However, there are certain things that you need to do at home as well.
You as a parent need to follow good habits yourself. Remember, you are your child’s role model. If the culture at home is set right with good behavior and good atmosphere then the rest becomes just a cake walk.

Do Not Give Extra Attention To The Wrong Habits
When children realize that their bad habit is gaining a lot of attention, they tend to feel encouraged to do more. Extra attention at wrong habits makes the child more stubborn and rigid. Hence it's best to ignore the annoying habits and allow your kid outgrow the habit on his/her own with time.
Identify the Root Cause and Understand Them

It is important to talk to the kids, observe and identify the reason causing the stress. Children generally practice unwanted bad habits because they are stressed, worried or nervous. Being patient, listening to their problem, and showing support can help them deal with the situation which is vital in getting rid of annoying bad habits. Once you identify the cause, you can find creative alternatives and substitutes to deviate the child’s mind and help him change his behavior patterns.

Appreciate and Reward When You See Improvement
Appreciating and rewarding children when they engage in good habits is a great way to eliminate the bad behavior. Appreciation works like a magic in reinforcing confidence in children. Even a small clap or a hug or kiss will give them a reason to quit bad habits. It will not only boost their morale, but such rewarding gestures will also make them feel special.

Importance of Music in Early Childhood Development

From birth, we all instinctively use music to calm and soothe our children. We sing and dance to engage and play and to express our love and affection towards them. However, many do not know that singing and music play an important role in early childhood growth and development as well.
Let’s find out how:

Music Teaches Children Self- Regulation Skills
Self-regulation is nothing but the ability to stop, think, and then make a choice before acting. This skill develops rapidly in the early years and is a critical predictor of educational and life success.
CBSE schools in Bhayander that strives to mould children in the right attitude and behaviour, find music learning as a great device to create a positive expression.
When music is used as a part of early education, it can help children learn to tell their bodies what to do, when to stop, when to go, and when to move to another activity. When children participate in musical activities they practise self-regulation skills. Those same skills will help children pay attention in school, act and behave appropriately, and help them in transition from one activity to another.

Music Helps Learn Language
Music aids language development. When children sing with action movements, they practice pronouncing words and putting sentences together. Even if the child really cannot understand what is being said, he or she is able to absorb some of it in context.  It provides a fluid way to process sounds that your brain automatically enjoys.

Learning the lyrics of songs is also an effective way to remember information. It’s a fact that many people first learned the alphabets by singing the ABC song. That’s because our brains remember language better when it is set to music.

Develops Creativity
Music boosts creativity in young minds. It has the ability to make discoveries and create innovations. A box can become a drum, a stick can be transformed into a horn, or a broom can become a dance partner.

Just like, playing a musical instrument gives you the ability to tell a story without words, in the same sense, listening to music challenges one to listen and tell a story about what one hears. Both require maximum right brain usage which not only exercises ones creativity but also ones intellect.
Hence, many high schools in Bhayandar and Dahisar who believe in stimulating children through an environment that is creative, use music as a part of education. It helps children generate new ideas and venture into newer horizons.

Make Kids Interesting and Happy
No one really knows why or where it comes from but many studies have shown that musical scales, chords, and harmonies uplifts mood and makes children more cheerful.  It enriches his or her appetite for things that bring pleasure and happiness.
Music not only makes your kid interesting and happy, but also extends their life span, right from an early stage.

Creates a Social Bond
Music provides children with a framework on which they can socialize and acts as a sort of communication among them.

Music connects children who may not otherwise discover they have anything in common.. When children participate in school activities like dancing and singing it encourages them to interact with others. Moreover, it creates a bond between two individuals -  that is nourished and cared for in the future.

Music is not just for normal growing children. Music therapy is also effective in reaching out to children with severe behavioural difficulties or with multiple handicaps. We all have some musical threads in our lives: singing, humming, whistling, clapping etc; all these provide vital tools in everyone's learning processes, so does it apply in children with Down syndrome.

The benefit of music education is just un-measurable and massive. However, the horizons are higher when children are involved in music. It has a great capacity to change and understand the world around them. Moreover, it makes a child a better person in life. Hence, many CBSE schools in Dahisar and other parts of Mumbai are taking initiative to bring out the musician in every child, and help them learn more easily and more effectively.

4 Teaching Strategies To Keep Class Interested And Engaged

Classroom teaching is a challenging task. No matter, what the subject be, it becomes essential for teachers to find a way to keep their class interesting enough so that students take in the information that is being presented to them. Because if students aren’t paying attention and their minds are wandering, there is no use of conducting the classroom session. So to overcome this boredom we have listed few teaching strategies that can be used to keep the class interested and engaged.

Role Play
Dividing the class into groups of two or three, and having each group come up with some role play that is related to the classroom topic can be a very effective method of learning. This way, the students aren’t just simply sitting in the classroom. Instead, they are actively involved in the class and passively taking notes. Moreover, their involvement in the role play will stimulate their mind in a specific way and help them overcome crowd-facing fear.

Create A Real-World Connection
A teacher or an educator should always try to create a real-world connection in relation to what students are learning in the classroom -  by taking them on outdoor educational trips.
Outdoor education trips can be anything – it can encompass biology field trips searching for insects in the school garden, as well as indoor activities like observing stock control in a local shop, or visiting a museum etc.

When you create a real-world connection to what students are learning, it will give them a greater understanding of why they need to learn it.
In fact, many ICSE board school in Mumbai are using this technique and are encouraging learners to apply the principles of learning experiences to real life situations. With the help of this approach, they have not only made teaching and learning interesting for kids, but have also been able to bring the best skills out of the students.

Introducing Mindful Games
A lot of the time students don’t even feel like they are learning anything because they are so into the game. So if you start introducing some games that are mindful and interesting, that can co-relate to the classroom subject, students will actually learn the content better. Games are a great way to keep students interested and engaged. Moreover, collaborative games will allow students to create a social bond with others and will develop deep thinking and problem-solving skills rather than just memorization of a topic.

Making Use of Latest Technology
Instead of using the same traditional method of teaching, make use of the latest technology to bring a sense of fun and engagement to classroom learning.
Sample tools and ideas to consider are the interactive whiteboards available online. Just browse the internet and you will find several good free interactive whiteboards available online.  If you have a computer and a projector, you can make them work like a smart board.
The more you utilize such technology, the more will students be able to explore new things and the more will they enjoy what they are learning.

Today an increasing number of ICSE board schools in Mumbai are making it easier than ever to leverage technology to create engaging, active lessons that students enjoy working on. Some secondary schools in Bhayander are also introducing communication-based and project-based learning where students can make use of the internet for various research and facts. Through such activities, the school aims to harness the talent present in each student making him/her a unique and complete individual.

5 Ways To Keep Your Play School Child Involved This Summer

Summer is going to arrive very soon. This is a time of the year when teachers bid farewell to their little students. However, it is also that time of year when parents take on the challenge of keeping their children physically busy and mentally active during long summer days.

To foster these efforts, we have listed down a few tips that will not only ease your task as a parent but will also entertain and engage your kids through the summer months.

1.    Create a Fun Place At Home
Your child must be enrolled in the best play school in Bhayander or in one of the best nursery in Mumbai, where kids are involved in various activities like drawing, painting, singing, dancing, etc, etc. However, such activities should not be restricted to school only. As parents, you should involve you child in such fun activities even at home.

You could spend afternoons making crafts, playing simple board games, creating blocks, or decorating the living area etc. Getting them involved in activities at home will double up their interest in learning and will also strengthen your bond with them. Moreover, it will help you understand their field of interest and their fondness towards taking responsibilities.

2.    Enroll Your Child In Summer Camps
Enrolling your child in the best playgroup in Bhayander is not enough. Summer camp is another great option to make your child smart and active.
Summer camps for preschoolers are typically half-day and offer a good balance of both high-energy and low-energy activities as well as sufficient rest time. They not only make your child’s learning more fun and playful but also provide a great opportunity for kids to spend more time interacting with other peers of their age.

3.    Involve Your Kid in Food Art or CookingFood art or cooking is one of the best ways to engage a child. Pick up a simple recipe and use their toy cooking set to give them a good experience about this engaging activity.
You can also raid the refrigerator for different colourful fruits and vegetables and arrange them into pictures on a large plate. Both of you together can create anything from a clown or train to flowers or anything that excites him while doing the activity.

4.    Volunteering in Environment-Friendly DrivesAlthough most of the play schools in Bhayander and other parts of Mumbai are making an effort in educating children to be more environmentally aware, it is our duty as parents as well to teach them how to respect Mother Earth.

Involve kids in a cleanliness drive in your locality. Help them plant samplings and involve them in activities like decorating the flower pots and the gardening area. Overall, it’s a great way to connect toddlers to Mother Nature at a very young age.

5.    Make a Scrapbook Of The Summer
Creating a scrapbook with your kid is just a fun thing to do.  When your child is involved in some activity take a few snapshots from your smartphone. Buy some cheap stickers, glue sticks, glitter and involve your kid in creating a scrapbook of the summer. This activity will not only fascinate your child and keep him active but will also allow him to capture all the memories of his summer vacation, in one simple attractive looking book.

Few Ways to Motivate Your Kids for a Monday Morning School!

Of all the days in the calendar, the most evil perhaps is the day labelled Monday.  Especially for school children, Monday morning is the worst time of the day.
After a fun-packed weekend with family and friends, your little ones need some extra motivation to jump start their Monday. As parents you need to try to give them something motivating, so they happily look forward to for a Monday morning.

Get things organised on a Sunday night
The best approach to defusing Monday morning mayhem is to get organized the night before.  Chores like ironing the school clothes for the next day, dealing with school correspondence and filling backpacks etc, should be organised a day prior.  The less your children have to contend with in the morning, the smoother the transition will be.

Appreciate your kids for their effortsLet's say your kid drew a painting on the weekend. Or he completed his weekend homework on time and was helping you in your household chores. Be sure to let him know how happy you feel looking at his paintings and how much you appreciate his efforts. Don't forget to add - how nice it was to ride with him to school on a pleasant Monday morning.

Remember that Monday’s are not always boring. Monday can be the start of something epic if your child is given admission in one of the good ICSE schools in Mumbai.

RBK - a top ICSE school in Mumbai believes in appreciating children for their efforts. This top ICSE schools in Thane is known to help children to be 'themselves' and to appreciate themselves for who they are.

The reason why RBK ranks among the top 10 ICSE schools in Mumbai, is because they put every effort to ensure your children grows to their full potential in the best way.

Prepare a special breakfast on a Monday morning
Special breakfast can mean a wide variety of things that you kids love. It can be pancakes, muffins, chocolate croissants, fruit smoothie, cheesy pasta/noodles etc.

Kids get pretty excited about food, so knowing they have something extra yummy waiting for them for breakfast actually gets them moving pretty well!

Realise that kids need your motivation, affection and love
Instead of just barking and yelling at your kids for getting things done, lend your help to them. This would mean, getting the tea ready on table, getting his school uniform from the cupboard, filling his water-bottle, feeding him breakfast etc. When you kids feel affectionate and loved, they automatically get motivated to go to school, then no matter if it’s a Monday morning or any other weekday.

5 Ways To Make Your Child Feel Loved

Enrolling your kid in one of the best Mumbai international schools doesn’t simply mean that you love and care for your child. There are many other factors that contribute together.
Kids perceive the entire world from a different angle. They try to seek attention and want to feel loved and cared by their elders, especially their own parents. Because they are filled with a host of emotions, some good and some bad, we need to ensure that we make them feel loved, respected and cared, so that they develop an identity based on these responses. Moreover, it boosts their self-esteem and makes them feel confident to lead this life.

Here are 5 ways to make your child feel loved:

Never Compare Your Kids With Other KidsComparison will create an inferiority complex in him and will make him feel insecure. It might turn his life into a never-ending struggle to prove his value. On the other hand, his attempts to demonstrate that he is good, will make him feel that he is worse than the other kids.
Comparison discourages your kid and destroys his uniqueness. It not only makes them feel miserable about themselves, but it also makes them feel like a loser in life.

Spent Time Together Daily
You don’t need to spend four - five hours with your kids; even 10 minutes a day does wonder. Let your child plan out what you do together and, if possible, turn the phone off or—better yet—leave it in another room so you're not tempted to check your messages every now and then.

Listen To Them
Listen to your children when they want to talk. Allow your child to finish talking and then respond. When listening, try not to cut your child off, or put words in your child’s mouth, no matter even if your child is telling you some boring story from his school book.
Listening improves your bond with them, and encourages them to listen to you. Moreover, it strengthens your parent-child relationship, which is very much required at an early stage.

Make Mornings Special
Even though morning is the rush time for almost every home, you can spend at least 5 minutes with your child and help him wake up with a cuddle and hug. Mornings prove to be the best time to connect with your children. It encourages them to go to school and makes their day even more special.

Show Respect
Many parents believe speaking rudely will improve their child. However, little does everyone know that this habit might have a negative impact on the kid.
Just like adults, kids also need respect. They need to be appreciated for their efforts and hard work. Even when they score lesser grades in school, they need encouragement from adults to do better in future.

When you converse with your child and in turn, listen to them, understand them and encourage them, you are sending the message that you value and respect their mind, and that you are with them, no matter what situation they face in future.

Even the best pre-schools in Mumbai are making an effort to make children feel loved and cared at a tender age. With an aim to develop an individual that he or she is, the schools make sure, every kid feels respected and nurtured with the right skills.

If you are looking for a preschool in Mumbai, opt for RBKIA. With international exposure and proper attention to each child this school empowers your kid to blossom as a personality, that’s unique from the rest.

It increases their confidence, motivates them to do better in life and self-respect, and inspires them to think bigger in life. Moreover, a good curriculum contributes to enhancing learner’s self-respect.

Helps In Improving The Economy Of A Country
In today’s competitive world, a well-created curriculum plays a vital role in improving the economy of a country. It also provides answers or solutions to the world’s extreme conditions and problems, such as politics, environment, socioeconomics and other issues like poverty and sustainable development.

Every authority involved in the field of education understands the importance of curriculum. Whether it’s a private school or a government school, special attention is given to the matter of curriculum.  Right from reviewing textbooks, tweaking curricula and adding prominent initiatives in the form of extra-curricular activities, the school has to ensure the curriculum brings an all-round development to a student’s learning life.

5 Ways To Keep Your Kid Stress-Free During Exams

Students all over Mumbai are gearing up in preparation for their examinations, and it is common to hear about the stress they feel during this season. Exam preparation seems like an undefeatable burden followed by fear of failure; it causes high levels of emotional distress and nervousness to many students. There are many educational institutions like CBSE schools in Mira Road who are making arrangements in order to help such students to perform to the best of their ability in exams. However, as parents, it’s your job as well to help your child achieve the optimal balance between being relaxed and being paralyzed by anxiety during the exam season.

For your convenience we have listed down 5 ways to ease your child's worries during exams:

1. Know Your Child’s Capabilities

Know that your child has a limit and will only be able to perform to the best of his/her ability. Accept their limitations. As a thumb rule don't compare your child with other kids who are toppers in class and not even with their siblings. Comparison will only de-motivate the child and make him feel weak. Remember that as parents you should try not to be overly narrowly focused on pushing them to do well academically and neglect other aspects of their life. This world is huge, so you have to remind not just your children, but yourselves as well that there are other opportunities for kids to explore and find success in life.

2. Have a Conversation with Your Child to Absorb Your Child’s Stress

Have a conversation with your child and help them identify their strengths. This will reinforce their self-esteem and self-confidence. See that your conversations do not indicate that you respect success only, instead show the attitude of taking both success and failure even-handedly and that both are equally important in life. Share his feelings and anxieties, and help him ease down. This is the most important and sensible way of absorbing your child’s stress and help him perform better in the exam.

3. Boost Your Child’s Nutrition Intake

During exams, children are often under stress since they have to spend longer hours memorizing different things. All this can be a little difficult and daunting for them if they consume unhealthy food. They will not just feel tired and drowsy, but might also fall sick due to mental pressure. Food is the vital source for growth and development; hence as parents, you should keep a track on their nutritional intake. Right food intake helps reduce stress, prevents drowsiness, calms the nerves, keeps the brain cells well-nourished and helps the body stay light and active.

4. Help Your Child Get Enough Sleep
Sleep is vital for everything from minimizing stress to boosting mood to improving school performance. If your child isn’t getting enough sleep, that’s a red indicator that they’re overscheduled. Seven to eight hours of sleep is much needed before the exam. If the child is well rested before the exam, he/she is able to function and remember better. A good sleep improves thinking and concentration power. Always remember, sleep is more beneficial for the child than a few hours of panicky last-minute study.

5. Keep Them Positive

Exam stress is an uneasy experience faced by a lot of children. It interferes with learning to auch an extent that it affects their performance. As a parent, you should help your child practice thinking about positives rather than negatives. Create a positive environment around by playing some soft music, set aside time for fun and relaxation – say 30 to 45 mins, chill out over a cup of coffee and encourage him to exercise. Once he feels relaxed, you can allow him to start with his next study session. All these things will reduce your child’s stress and help him improve his/her overall performance in exams.

The higher academic standards and expectations are more evident in normal board schools. As a result of these demands, it is common for students to experience greater levels of stress related to academics. However, these days’ many secondary schools in Bhayandar and CBSE schools in Mira Road have started devising their own mechanisms to de-stress the students, by organizing workshops or counseling sessions.

Nevertheless, if you want your child to study in a stress-free environment, then ensure you enroll your child in one of the best schools in the city, a one that offers a rich, enjoyable and lasting educational experience for your little learners. It will surely have a great positive impact on your child’s overall growth and development in future.

4 Tips For Healthy Eating For School Children

A child’s diet is one of the most neglected aspects during their school life. It has been observed that students get into the habit of glugging pizza’s and burgers because it’s tempting and easily available all over the place. However, these habits prove to be unhealthy and very bad for school children. Instead, good nutrition should be a part of children’s study plan because it’s going to help them ace those tests and exams in the school. The better the fuel their brain gets the better will they study and the better will they live.

Here are 4 tips for healthy eating for school children

1. Do Not Skip Breakfast
Breakfast is a must for every child. Having breakfast in the morning will keep the kid vigorous throughout the day. Snacks like fresh fruits, dry fruits, honey coated nuts, seeds, roasted whole grains, soups, salads, hot chocolate, almond milk or yogurt, helps the kid kick start the day with the right amount of energy for the mind, body, and soul.

2. Stick To Frequent, Small Meals
Children are always loaded with multiple tasks during their school life. From projects to oral exams to writing exams and various activities, there are multiple topics that they need to clear during the school.
For example, if your child is enrolled in one of the top 10 IGCSE schools in Mumbai, he/she gets engaged in various researches, reports, games, projects and other activities. To withstand all these tasks, the child needs to have frequent small meals throughout the day. Small, frequent, nutritious meals make sure they have a constant flow of steady nourishment keeping them alert and awake. Fresh fruit juices/ salads, sandwiches, eggs etc; are known to be excellent options.

3. Don’t Miss  Memory Enhancer Foods
To enhance the functioning of brain and memory - omega 3 fatty acids needs to be incorporated in the child’s diet.  Fishes like salmon (rawas fish), herring (bhing) and mackerel (bangda) have good amount of omega 3 fatty acids. Two servings of sea-food for a day make a good option.
However,  if you do not eat fish or do not have access to good fish, add ground flax seeds (alsi), pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds (til), soyabean oil, canola oil to your child’s diet. Moreover, omega 3 fatty acid supplements are also available in the market.

4. Keep Them Hydrated
It’s observed that even after getting involved in tedious activities kids end up drinking very less fluids. Drinking less water is bad for health. It not only creates digestion problems but also increases the risks of other illness.  However, when dehydrated, the body and mind gets flourished.  It even minimizes stress and maximizes learning during exams.
Many top 10 IGCSE schools in Mumbai and A level schools in Mumbai have a canteen that offers a range of food choices. While most schools do follow government guidelines to encourage healthy food choices, as parents its best to offer your child with packed lunch from home. Moreover, it is a great way for your child to learn about healthy food eating habits.

Reasons Why School Bags Are Getting Heavier

It has been observed that a majority of school students are facing health issues due to heavy bags. According to medical experts, around 58 percent of students below 10 years of age have mild muscle pain while 75 per cent of those below 12 years of age were found to be falling ill and having fever from time to time due to heavy bags.

Experts also say that schools bags of CBSE and ICSE Schools In Mumbai were heavier than that of state board students. At the same time, it is found that students in rural areas carry lighter bags than those in urban areas.

Here are a few reasons why:
  • CBSE and ICSE schools in Thane and other parts of Mumbai have fat textbooks for many subjects, hence students studying in these schools tend to have heavier bags.
  • Secondly, since there are no lockers in the school - students try to carry everything from compass box, lunch box, water bottle, heavy practical journals, school diary, tuitions books etc; and school authorities are not taking any effort to stop them.
  • Besides all the above things, students studying in international schools in Mumbai are fond of carrying fancy backpacks which tend to be heavier than the normal books. This, in turn, adds to the weight of the overall baggage.
  • Additionally, even parents fail to train children on how to pack bags smartly. Since kids are too small to understand, their bags are always cluttered and messy – this is another reason why more weight is added to the bag, unnecessarily.
Carrying heavy school bags day after day is one of the most distressing experiences for a school going child.  Apart from normal muscle pain and fever, there are several consequences of overburdening their tiny shoulders. The pain and physical discomfort resulting from carrying a heavy school bag can also result in stress and lack of attentiveness in a child, affecting their learning in the precious formative years.
Hence as parents and responsible educational leaders, it is our duty to find ways on how to unburden our children from heavy school bags. It will not only make kids feel light but will also make schooling a joyous and enriching experience for them.

Parenting Tips On How To Raise A Smart Child

Childhood is the most critical phase of an individual. This is the stage where the brain develops most quickly. So how you help your child grow intellectually affects him in the future as well.

Below are some tips that every parent should follow:

Encourage Your Child In Various Activities
Expose your child to things that develop both sides of their brain - the left side functions for reasoning, logic,
and language while the right side features creativity and the arts.

For logic, reasoning and language: Allow your child play smart computer games, let him witness you doing smart things like reading a book, doing gardening, creating structures and images from blocks etc.
For creative and arts: Allow him to listen to music, learn dance, painting, theatre etc.

Always remember learning and having fun at the same time is the best way to educate your child.

Motivate and Provide Feedback

Giving your kids feedback during basic conversations about the way they're handling their responsibilities motivates them to do better. Rather than just complaining and removing faults,  giving children an explanation about their habits and behaviour will help them understand what is right and what is wrong.

Of course, giving kids rewards can sometimes be useful to get them over a hump for tasks like completing homework on time, or getting up to school on time etc,  however, make sure this practice of rewarding is just temporary and short-lived.

Enroll Your Kid in An International School
When it comes to getting admission for your child in the best school, you might come across thousands of options to choose from. However enrolling your child in an international school in Mumbai will really make a huge difference.

Mumbai International schools provide application-oriented international curriculum addressing the needs of your child as a twenty-first-century global citizen. Apart from student-centered international methodology, these schools offer activities beyond academics to focus on the all-round development of your child.
